Always There

The day has come and gone
And she spills into the door
The rest is riding on
The hope for something more

And all her questions seem to disappear
Every time she tries to reach
Beyond the heartache and the fear
She needs to hear

She hides her face and says a little prayer
She hopes that maybe his intentions will
Carry her beyond emotion
She needs to know he’s always there

She lies awake at night
Just a puppet in a show
The noose fits nice and tight
She pretends she doesn’t know

And all her dreams sleep safe inside this drawer
Every time she tries to
Pick up all the pieces off the floor
She’s wanting more

She hides her face to say a little prayer
She hopes that maybe his intentions will
Carry her beyond emotion
She needs to know he’s always there
